MultiChoice enriches lives, and offer a wide range of products and services, including Showmax, M-Net, SuperSport, GOtv, DStv, KingMakers and Irdeto. And these products and services are used by over 23.5 million households in 50 market across sub-Saharan African.

Over the years, MultiChoice has been changing the subscription prices of their products, DStv and GOtv, blaming rising cost of business. And most people don’t like these changes because they can’t afford the new prices. So most of them don’t renew their subscription when it expires due to the new price.

MultiChoice says from May 1st 2024, the subscription prices for DStv & GOtv will increase, saying this increase in price is as a result of rising cost of business.

Court Stops MultiChoice Planned Hike In DStv & GOtv Subscription Prices.

The tribunal has intervened to prevent MultiChoice from raising subscription fees for DStv and GOtv services.
The Competition and Consumer Protection Tribunal (CCPT) in Abuja issued a ruling on Monday preventing MultiChoice Nigeria from implementing its planed price hikes and increases for products and services set to start on May 1st.
This decision came after an ex-parte motion was presented by Ejiro Awaritoma, who is the legal representative of Festus Onifade, the applicant.
