To boost the human resource development in the Niger Delta region, the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), is embarking on a foreign post graduate scholarship programme to give young people relevant training and skills for effective participation in the local content programme of the Federal Government, and also enable them to acquire specialization in their fields of study and thus complete globally in various professional disciplines.
The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) is a government agency that was established by the Nigerian government in the year 2000, the commission was put in place to develop the oil-rich Niger Delta region of Nigeria. The commission is working to offer a lasting solution to the socio-economic difficulties of Niger Delta and also give rapid development to the Niger Delta.
NDDC wishes to inform the general public that applications for 2024/2025 post-graduate (master’s degree) scholarship is now open. And in this article, I will tell you how to apply. So keep reading on.

The scheme is for suitable qualified applicants, with relevant Bachelor’s Degree from recognized universities in the following professional disciplines.
- Law.
- Geoscience.
- Agricultural science.
- Engineering.
- Environmental science.
- Medical science.
- Information technology.
Application Deadline For NDDC Post Graduate Scholarship.
The submission of applications for NDDC post graduate scholarship started on April 15, 2024. And will end on May 13, 2024. So hurry up and submit your application.
Requirements For NDDC Post Graduate Scholarship.
The following are required documents to be attached to the application.
- Local government identification letter.
- NYSC discharge or exemption certificate.
- Recent passport photograph.
- Relevant degrees from recognized universities.
- Post graduate admission letter from a recognized overseas university.
NDDC Post Graduate Scholarship Selection Process.
- Application: This is the first step, where you submit your application via the commission’s website.
- Preliminary Shortlisting: Candidates will be shortlisted based on the following criteria:
- WASSCE/ NECO result.
- ndergraduate degree classification (1st class, 2nd class upper/ lower).
- Local government identification.
- Computer Based Test: Shortlisted candidates will undergo a computer-based test conducted by consultants in River State.
- Minimum Test Score: Candidates must achieve a minimum score of 70% in the test to proceed to the next stage.
- Further Shortlisting: Candidates who successfully pass the test will be further shortlisted.
- Final Verification: The final verification of the candidates will be done through the Local Government Area (LGA) and Community Development Committee (CDC).

After successfully applying, a registration number will be automatically given to you. Do not forget to print out a hard of the acknowledgement for future reference.
And all shortlisted applicants will be announced and posted on the NDDC website, and will be required to take part in a computer-based test.
