The National Youth Service Corps formally known as NYSC was created in a bid to reconstruct and also rebuild the country after the Nigerian civil war. NYSC was also established to properly encourage and develop the common ties among the youths of Nigeria and the promotion of the national unity as a developing country.
NYSC is developing to becoming a result oriented organization that is stongly committed to its set objectives particularly those of national unity and development. And also to raise the moral tone of the youths by giving them opportunity to learn about high ideas of national achievement and social improvements.

Update On NYSC Call-Up Letter.
As directed in the call-up letter, any person who fails to come for service in the Corps, shall be prosecuted in line with the provision of Section 13 sub-section 1(a) and (b) of the NYSC Act, Cap. N84, Law of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004.
And any person who is not eligible for service or has been duly issued with a certificate of national service or certificate of exemption but so participate or attempts to participate shall also be prosecuted in line with Section 13 sub-section 2(a) and (b) of the NYSC Act, Cap. N84 Law of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004.
Chukkol Charges Corps Members To Shun Internet Fraud.
The acting chairman of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Abdulkarim Chukkol, has called on members of NYSC and other youths across the country to steer clear of internet-related crimes but rather use the internet to solve social problems.
He said this on Thursday July 27, 2023 at the NYSC orientation Camp, Okada, Edo State while addressing corps members on “The Role of Youths In Curbing Corruption”. Youths are getting embroiled in all sorts of cyber crime to detriment of their future and image of the nation, he said.
He charged the youths to be role models in the integrity and accountability and embrace hard work as there was no short cut to wealth and fame. He also said “the rate of unemployment is high, yes, but it should not be an excuse to resort to crime. Yahoo is not a sustainable way of life.
What To Do After NYSC Camp.
The first thing you need to do is to Collect your posting letter from your platoon office: Your posting letter will tell you where you have been posted to to carryout your national service. You can also check your dashboard to see it. And when you have relocated, go to the state secretariat for documentation. And after that, do the following;
- Report To Your PPA: Go to your Place of Primary Assignment (PPA). But if you get relocation while in camp, then go to the NYSC state secretariat in the new state for documents. But make sure you collect your posting letter before you leave NYSC camp.
- Report To Your LGI Office: After reporting to your PPA, you will be given a letter that shows whether you are accepted or rejected. You can submit the letter to the NYSC zonal office or the office of LGI depending on the distance between the zonal office and the LGI office. Note, if you are rejected in your PPA, do not proceed to the next step until you get another PPA. Sometimes, your LGI or zonal inspector may report you to another PPA.
- Enjoy Your Two Weeks Leave: The minimum leave you have is 2 weeks, depending on he agreement between you and your PPA. For these two weeks, you can travel back home to see ya people. But before you travel you need to write and submit a leave application letter to the NYSC state coordinator through your LGI.
