Zone Improvement Plan (Zip) codes are used for faster sorting of mail and delivery. Originally they consisted of five digits. But in the 1980s these codes were expanded to nine digits, which are written with a hyphen – XXXXX-YYYY, for instance, 25436-7543.
In Nigeria there are no single ZIP codes, ZIP codes are only used and available in the United States of America.
In Nigeria instead, they use postal codes for different states, depending on the state that you are located when required to give a ZIP code just give the postal code of the particular state you stay.
All countries use these codes for the same purpose of mailing, postal codes are organized by the Nigerian Postal Service. The country is divided into nine regions. Each region code consists of the first numeral. Zip code is a mandatory part of filling out the forms of any online application.
