Mobile networks in Nigeria have several services in common, one of which gives subscribers the ability to transfer Airtime balance to another user on the same network.
They call it different code-names: Share n Sell, Me2u, etc.
You can always buy recharge voucher and send the PIN but that takes time –
There’s also the issue of sending the wrong PIN across.
In this post, I’ll share the steps required to activate, change password and send Airtime credits to your friends and family.
How To Transfer Credits using MTN Share n Sell
MTN Allows you to share your airtime with loved ones, the minimum amount that can be transferred is 50 Naira, while the maximum amount allowed per transaction is 6,000 Naira. The service is entirely free (Except the airtime you’re sending).

Example: If i want to transfer 250 Naira to 08031234567 and my PIN is 0000, I will Text this to 777.

This can also be done via USSD – *600*Recipient’s Number*Amount*PIN#
Send to 777, and you will receive a confirmation SMS, Reply with the word YES
The MTN Share n Sell PIN
For your security and to ensure that no one transfers airtime from your phone without permission, MTN Share n Sell service is protected by a 4 Digit PIN code which should be known only by you.
By default the PIN is 0000 – You’re required to Change it before you can share credits. Here’s how

Transaction fee
All Share ‘N’ Sell transactions attracts a nominal transfer fee, the applicable transfer fee depends on the value of the transaction you made. Customers will be notified about the exact fee to be deducted anytime a Share N Sell transaction is made. The transfer fee will be deducted only when a confirmation or acceptance to continue is received from the customer.

How to Transfer Airtime Credits on 9mobile Nigeria Network
Transferring airtime on Etisalat is much easier. It doesn’t require composing a text message, you just dial Dial *223*PIN*Amount*Recipient Number# and Send/OK
For example: Dial *223*0000*300*08091234567# to transfer N300 to 08091234567
9mobile Airtime Transfer can also be made using the Service Menu on your phone.
The default PIN is 0000, and anyone who gets hold of your 9mobile phone can Steal airtime Unless you change the PIN.
You can call 9mobile customer care on 200 and speak to a Representative if you need to change your PIN.
How to Activate and Transfer Airtime Credits on Glo Network.
Glo airtime sharing service is called ME2U, and it requires a One time activation by Texting ACT to 131.
New users will also have to change their default password from 00000 to another 5 digits by Dialing this code: *132*00000*NewPIN*NewPIN# – example: *132*0000*12345*12345# – PIN must be up to 5 digits
Now that your ME2U is activated and PIN has been changed, To send airtime to other GLO subscribers, do this.
Dial *131*number*Amount*pin# and send. Example: *132*7051234567*500*12345# then send.
Note: The recipients number must begin with 7 or 8 – You should NOT add the first 0 in the number.
A confirmation is required – Press 1 to confirm transfer.
How to Transfer Airtime from Airtel to Airtel
To transfer Airtime on Airtel Network, compose this SMS and send to 432: Here’s the SMS format.
