  • So let’s start, now launch Microsoft Word and create your document
  • Once you are done with the typing part, now is time to save the document. Click on the file tab to save, under the tab use the option Save As
  • Click on the drop down arrow associated with the field Save as type, from the options listed under the drop down menu, find and click on the PDF option.
  • After that, click on the option button, now you need to check the checkbox with the name; encrypt the document with a password and click OK.
  • A new window named Encrypt PDF Document opens up. You have to enter a password containing at least 6 letters and at most 32 letters of your choice, re-enter the password and click on OK. Once you are done, click on save button.
  • Now you need to navigate to the location at which you have saved your document. Double click on the document to open it with your default PDF Reader.  A new window named Password opens up.

    You have to enter the password which you used to encrypt your document to open and view the document contents. There you are! You have successfully created a PDF document and set a password to open it using Microsoft Word alone.
