One common problem with Google Nexus Asus 7 Grouper android tablets is that they easily get stuck in a boot-loop.
This is a device state that doesn’t allow your phone or tablet to boot successfully to the homescreen. It stays at the default boot logo screen until your battery drains or you power off the device.
This problem is usually caused by intentionally making changes to important android systems files needed to boot the device (aka rooting) or installing APK files from untrusted sources.
An easy fix would be to restore device to factory default settings by holding Power button + volume keys to enter recovery mode and restore. If this still doesn’t get your device out of bootloop, follow the steps below to Flash Stock firmware to your Google Nexus Asus 7 Grouper Tablet.
How to Download and Flash Stock Firmware on Google Nexus Asus 7 Android Tab.
Download these two files
- Nexus Root Toolkit by Wugresh (NRT v2.1.5)- Download ASUS Nexus 7 Stock Firmware (Factory Image)I used the Build LMY47V for my Wifi model so select correct one.
- Download and Install ADB Drivers: This is very important and can cause issues if ignored. ADB Drivers are available on the Nexus Root toolkit, click FULL Driver installation guide or manually install the Universal Naked driver 0.72 via device manager.
- Boot device to Bootloader mode: Power off the device then Hold Power Button and Down-Volumn key for 5 Seconds. When you see the big START button, this is the Bootloader mode.
- Launch Nexus Root Toolkit and select your device if prompted to do so.
click Flash Stock + Unroot. Select Other/Browse and “i already downloaded a factory image” - Click ok to begin and monitor the NRT Log for errors. I had to attempt 2 different USB ports before fast boot was detected.
