The Nigerian Air Force is the air branch of the Nigerian Armed Forces, and is the youngest branch of the Arm Forces. The following are the requirements for the Nigerian Air Force recruitment.
- Applicants must be citizens of Nigeria by birth.
- Applicants must be single.
- The minimum height is 1.66m or 5.5ft for males and 1.63m or 5.3ft for females.
- Applicants must be fit medically, physically, and psychological. And must meet the Nigerian Air Force medical and employment standards.
- Age:
- Applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 22 for non- tradesman/ woman.
- Applicants for tradesman/ woman should between the ages of 18 and 25.
- Applicants for chaplains assistant/ assistant imams and driver/ mechanic should be between the ages of 18 and 28.
- Applicants local government area attestation form must be signed by a military officer from the same state as the applicants and not below the rank of wing commander in the Nigerian Air Force or equivalent in the Nigerian Army, Navy or Police officer of the rank of assistant commissioner and above, local government chairman/ secretaries, magistrates and principals of secondary school attended by applicants can also sign the attestation form.
- The LGA attestation form must be accompanied by the passport photograph and photocopy of the signees’ drivers licence or national ID card or international passport.
Successful candidates are required to submit their original credentials for scrutiny at the selection board interview. The credentials include the following:
- Original and photocopy of birth certificate or declaration of age.
- Two recent passport size photograph to be stamped and countersigned by the officer of appropriate rank as specified in paragraph 6.
- Original and photograph of educational/ trade certificate.
- Original and photocopy of indigeneship certificate.
- Original and photocopy of attestation to good character signed by officer of appropriate rank as specified in paragraph 5.

Non- Tradesmen & Women
Applicants must possess a minimum of 5 credits, including Mathematics and English Language, in not more than 2 sittings in NECO/ GCE/ SSCE/ NABTEB. And applicants should have their school testimonials.
Tradesmen & Women
Applicants with ND/ NCE must possess at least lower credit from accredited institutions and must have a minimum of 5 credits including mathematics and English, in not more than 2 sittings in SSCE/ NABTEB/ GCE/ NECO.
Applicants for the position of a driver and other trade skills that requires trade test must have a minimum of 2 passes in SSCE/ GCE/ NABTEB/ NECO with a credit in English in addition to their drivers license for drivers and trade test certificate.

- Catering: ND catering services/ hotel management.
- Driver/ Mechanic: Trade test certificate grade I, II & III, valid current drivers’ license and practical experience.
- Assistant Imam: ND/ Diploma in Islamic studies, Arabic language & literature and NCE sharia law.
- Chaplain Assistant: ND/ Diploma in theology, catechesis and certificate in religious studies.
- Legal Clerks: Diploma in law.
- Public Relations: ND mass communication, journalism, broadcasting. Trade test certificate in videography/ photography and graphic design.
