Reason Why Artists Encounter Problems When Leaving Their Labels.
The following are some reasons why most artists encounter problems when leaving their labels.
- Artists may face problems when it comes to receiving their fair share of earnings. Labels sometimes withhold payments, leading to financial strains and dispute between the artist and the label.
- Most times, labels may impose restriction on song selection, or artist collaboration, which may result in disagreement and the artist may leave the label.
- Artists may have differing visions from their labels regarding their music careers and the direction they wish to take. If the artist wants to explore different genres, styles, etc. it can lead to conflicts when leaving if the label is resistant to the changes.
