The Nigeria Liquified Natural Gas (NLNG) Limited plant in located in Bonny island, Rivers State is responsible for producing over 22 million tones liquified natural gas per year through the 6 liquefaction units and ships worldwide via a total fleet of 23 ships.
To put it into context, NLNG accounts for the production of about 10% liquefied natural gas consumed all over the world.
Petrochemical companies require a lot of qualified manpower to keep both technical operations and administrative services working in perfect synchronization. Therefore NLNG currently runs administrative offices in Abuja, Port Harcourt and operational base in Bonny Island where all the production goes on.

Job adverts from NLNG, recruiting qualified graduates are not common. So when they come along, there’s a huge rush of applicants because of the high rate of unemployment and the job security and high standard of living NLNG Staff enjoy. The positions advertised are:
- TRAINEE TECHNICIAN (pm/2021/001) Field or workshop maintenance activities safely
- TRAINEE OPERATOR (po/2021/001) – Field operations in plant area safely.
Qualifications and requirements for NLNG Trainee Operator / Technician
- Trainee Operator: Must have obtained atleast an Upper credit Higher National Diploma (HND) in any of the following engineering disciplines:
Chemical, Process, Instrumentation, Mechanical or Electronics /Electrical Engineering. - Trainee Technician: Must have obtained at least an upper credit Higher National Diploma (HND) in any of the following engineering disciplines:
Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Metallurgy, Instrumentation Engineering. - NYSC certificate or exemption obtained not earlier than 2018 must be available. That means NYSC from 2019, 2020 are not eligible.
- Knowledge of ICT (computer use) is essential.
- Primary School Certificate and Secondary school certificates must also be available.
